Installing the NGS Shoutcast Module is a very quick and simple process. - Login to the Administrator Control Panel for your site. This is typically done by going to http://www.your-site-name.com/administrator.
- In the menu bar, highlight Extensions and click Install/Uninstall.
 - Click Browse and locate the mod_ngs_shoutcast.zip file and click Open.
 - Click Upload File & Install. After a few seconds, you should see the message "Install Module Success".

- In the menu bar, highlight Extensions and click Module Manager.
 - In the extension list, locate Net Guy Steve's Shoutcast Module, select it by marking the box, and then click Edit in the tool bar on the upper right of the screen.
  - Check the information under Details on the upper left portion of the screen to make sure the module's general appearance is configured as you would like.
The following information is often changed:- Title: You may want to set this to the name of your stream.
- Enabled: Verify that this is set to Yes.
- Position: By default, this will be Left, but you can (and should) position it wherever it looks best on your site.
- Order: Similar to positioning, you may want to adjust the order of the modules in that position. NOTE: If you modified the position of the module you must click Apply in the upper right hand side of the screen before you can change the position.
- By default, new modules are visible on all pages of a site, once enabled. You can adjust this in the Menu Assignment panel on the lower left hand side of the screen.

- Finally, configure the specific parameters for the NGS Shoutcast Module. If Module Parameters is not expanded in the right hand panel, click it so that it drops down and enter the configuration parameters for your stream.

- Station Name: The name of your station. This setting is optional. If you already changed the module's title to the name of your station, you may consider setting this to some station slogan like "The Music You Love".
- High Speed Host IP: If you are running two different streams, such as a primary and a backup or a high speed and a low speed server, this should be the primary of the two. If you are only using one server, just enter the address of your server. Even though it says IP, a fully qualified domain name like SHOUTCAST1.HOST.COM will work here as well. Do not enter the port number as part of the address.
- High Speed Host Port:This should be the port number you use on your High Speed Host, entered above.
- Slow Speed Host IP: This setting should be left blank if you are only using one host. Do not enter the same information as your high speed host, or you will end up with two sets of listen buttons, with no real reason for the second set. If you are using two hosts, enter the address for your second host here, just as you did above for your first host.
- Slow Speed Host Port: Once again, if you are only using one host, you should leave this setting blank. If you are using two hosts, enter the port number used on the second host here.
- Windows Media Fast Host: If you are using a Windows Media Mount Point, you would enter your Fast Host mount point here. If you are not using one, or do not know, leave this setting blank, and the module will generate a shoutcast mountpoint automatically. Examples of mount points:
- mms://www.host.com/mountpoint
- rtsp://www.host.com/mountpoint
- http//www.host.com/mystation.aspx
- Windows Media Slow Host: As above, this would be the Windows Media Mount Point for your secondary server. If you are only using one server, leave this setting blank.
- High Speed: This is the text that will appear immediately above the listen buttons for your High Speed Host and Port listed above. This can be changed to any descriptive text for the host. For example, on the demo site, this has been changed to Primary Server.
- Slow Speed: This is the text that will appear immediately above the second set of listen buttons. On the demo site, this has been set to Backup Server.
- Currently Playing: If you have enabled the display of the current song, this text will appear immediately before the song. On the demo site, this is set to Now on Air:. Note that the colon (:) is included as part of the text here. It could easily be changed to any other symbol desired such as a dash (-) or even omitted completely.
- Show Station Name: Disabled by default. If enabled, the name of your station, or whatever text was entered in the "Station Name" field above, will be displayed inside the module box.
- Show Current Song: Disabled by default. If enabled, this will show the text entered above in the "Currently Playing" field, followed by the song and artist. If the server host or individual broadcaster has disabled the sending of artist and song information, this feature will not work.
- Show 3D Buttons: Disabled by default. If enabled, the module will use 3D versions of the 4 media buttons instead of the default 2D graphics.
- Now that you have completely configured the module, all that's left to do is click Save, in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
